The Women’s National Invitational Tournament announced the completion of it’s 48-team field, late last night, and four SEC teams that were unable to break into the NCAA Tournament field will participate.

Kentucky received the automatic bid, by virtue of being the highest regular-season finisher in the conference that did NOT receive an NCAA bid. The Wildcats earned a first-round bye and will host the winner of the Middle Tennessee State University vs. Western Carolina game on Friday night.

South Carolina also begins play on Friday night, hosting their first-round game against the North Carolina A & T Aggies. The winner of that game advances to round two and will travel to Raleigh on Monday to play the North Carolina State Wolfpack.

Mississippi State will play the winner of the opening round game between Arkansas-Little Rock and Southern Mississippi, at a time and date yet to be determined.

Florida also secured a first-round bye and will play the winner of the match between South Florida and Florida-Gulf Coast on Monday. That location and time has yet to be determined.
